Forensic Assessment Interview Technique (FAINT), is an interview to assess the truth about a suspicion followed by an official report and a great tool used in early stages of an investigation to eliminate suspects from the pool and narrow down the investigation. This saves resources and time. FAINT used with the Weighted Scoring System (WSS), increases the accuracy in determining deception and truthfulness in single issue suspect cases. A forensic interviewer uses various techniques to both gain the trust of the suspect and to verify that the information being given is accurate. Body language and Micro Expressions plays an enormous role in FAINT and during the interview the interviewer will look for Illustrators, Adapters and Emblems.
